This is great! I can buy this and actually own it. I cam watch it at any time even if Amazon decides to no longer sell it. I really wish others would see the beauty in that.

It's great that people love Amazon, but they are just matching the sale that Barnes and Noble is having. All Arrow titles are 50% off [barnesandnoble.com] until late September, including this one [barnesandnoble.com].

Actually picked up a bluray copy at a goodwill for a couple bucks not long ago and gave it a watch for kicks. The story is still silly, but holds up surprisingly well after 40 years... as long as you can overlook the early 80s, Star Wars wannabe, CGI effects.

Overlook the historic groundbreaking CGI from 1983? You are completely missing the point.

Compared to the soulless crap movies starring the usual cast of beautiful people we get today, this movie is a gem and a classic. Simple but memorable story, great characters and it leaves you feeling good at the end. The great moments in this movie are earned, and it has a solid hero's journey. The CGI was revolutionary for the time (rendered on a Cray supercomputer), Craig Safan did a great job with the score, and Robert Preston is a legend.

$25 for a great movie that came out in 1984. Greedy movie studios.
